Rider Profile

Best ForSuitable for beginner to intermediate riders thanks to its manageable single-cylinder power delivery and light overall weight.
PurposeDesigned as a versatile single-cylinder enduro that handles light off-road trails, commuting, and occasional weekend touring equally well.
Rider FitThe tall 780mm seat height and lean 195kg wet weight demand reasonable inseam length but make the bike easy to muscle around at low speeds or off-road.
CharacterA rugged, no-nonsense single-cylinder adventure bike that favors simplicity, low running costs, and off-road capability over outright performance.
Not Ideal ForNot the right choice for riders wanting high-speed highway cruising, pillion comfort on long trips, or strong acceleration.

Character map is an editorial estimate based on this bike's specifications, not a lab-tested measurement.

2014 BMW G 650 GS Rider Ergonomics Assessment

Calculated in your browser only - your height/inseam are never sent to our servers.

Feet:

At 780mm, a rider of 175cm with a 79cm (estimated) inseam will reach the ground with both feet flat on the 2014 BMW G 650 GS, with a cramped knee angle of around 65 degrees and a slightly forward riding position.

Data quality: measured. Assumes about 30mm of suspension sag once seated (a typical street-bike rule of thumb - stiffer or softer suspension will vary). This is an approximation from category-typical geometry and generic body proportions, not a measurement of this specific bike or you - sit on it before you buy.
