Rider Profile

Best ForThis is a big, tall adventure machine best suited to riders with prior experience on large-displacement bikes rather than absolute beginners.
PurposeBuilt as a long-range, go-anywhere adventure tourer, with this Worldcrosser edition adding extra off-road and touring-ready hardware.
Rider FitAt 261 kg with an 846 mm seat height, it demands decent height, strength, and confidence to manage at low speed and off-road.
CharacterIt has a torquey, unhurried parallel-twin character paired with shaft-drive reliability, favoring smooth, controlled power delivery over outright sportiness.
Not Ideal ForIt is not the right choice for riders wanting a light, flickable machine for tight city commuting or track-day carving.

Character map is an editorial estimate based on this bike's specifications, not a lab-tested measurement.

2015 Yamaha Super Tenere Worldcrosser Rider Ergonomics Assessment

Calculated in your browser only - your height/inseam are never sent to our servers.

Feet:

At 846mm, a rider of 175cm with a 79cm (estimated) inseam will reach the ground with balls of both feet on the 2015 Yamaha Super Tenere Worldcrosser, with a relaxed knee angle of around 135 degrees and a forward-leaning riding position.

Data quality: measured. Assumes about 30mm of suspension sag once seated (a typical street-bike rule of thumb - stiffer or softer suspension will vary). This is an approximation from category-typical geometry and generic body proportions, not a measurement of this specific bike or you - sit on it before you buy.

⚠ Safety Recalls (1)

POWER TRAIN:MANUAL TRANSMISSION Mar 2015 · 15V176000

Yamaha Motor Corporation, USA (Yamaha) is recalling certain model year 2015 FJ-09 (FJ09F/FC), FZ-09 (FZ09F/FC), FZ6R (FZ6RF/FC), Super Tenere (XTZ12F/FC), Super Tenere ES (XTZ12EF/EFC), and R6 (YZF-R6) motorcycles manufactured September 1, 2014, to November 17, 2014. The affected motorcycles may have an incorrectly manufactured shift cam segment stopper, having a sharp edge on the inside of the bend instead of a smooth radius. As a result, the stopper can crack and possibly fracture at this sharp edge.

Risk: If the stopper fractures, the transmission may not shift properly, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Yamaha will notify owners, and dealers will replace the shift shaft assembly with a new one, free of charge. The recall began on April 6, 2015. Owners may contact Yamaha customer service at 1-800-962-7926.
