Performance Profile & Rider Fit
Best For
Rider Profile
| Best For | Suits riders with at least some prior experience handling a heavy, torque-driven V-twin cruiser at low speeds. |
| Purpose | Built for relaxed boulevard cruising and weekend rides with a sportier edge than a standard Dyna, thanks to its firmer suspension and dual front discs. |
| Rider Fit | The low 693mm seat height makes it accessible to shorter riders, though the 292kg dry weight demands confident low-speed balance and upper-body strength at a stop. |
| Character | A muscular, torque-rich cruiser that blends classic Harley styling with slightly sharper handling and braking than its Dyna Glide siblings. |
| Not Ideal For | Not a good fit for riders seeking high-speed sport performance, aggressive cornering ability, or any off-road capability. |

⚠ Safety Recalls (3)
ON CERTAIN MOTORCYCLES, THE THROTTLE CABLES COME INTO CONTACT WITH THE TUNNEL PORTION OF THE FUEL TANK.
Risk: IN THIS CONDITION, THE CABLES COULD EVENTUALLY WEAR THROUGH THE TANK, CAUSING A FUEL LEAK. FUEL LEAKAGE, IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE, COULD RESULT IN A FIRE.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE CABLE AND TANK, REPOSITION THE CABLE AND, IF NECESSARY, REPAIR OR REPLACE THE TANK AND/OR CABLES FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON OCTOBER 31, 2005. OWNERS MAY CONTACT HARLEY-DAVIDSON AT 1-414-343-4056.
CERTAIN HARLEY-DAVIDSON AFTERMARKET VOLTAGE REGULATOR COVERS, P/N 74593-04 THAT CAN BE INSTALLED ON 2004 AND 2005 FXD, FXDX, FXDI, FXDXI DYNA GLIDE MOTORCYCLES, OR 2005 FXDC AND FXDCI DYNA GLIDE MODEL MOTORCYCLES. THE COVER MAY CONTACT THE FRONT FENDER UNDER CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES.
Risk: CONTACT MAY ALLOW THE COVER AND THE FENDER TO LOCK TOGETHER, THEREBY LIMITING SUSPENSION TRAVEL AND STEERING, POSSIBLY RESULTING IN A VEHICLE CRASH.
Remedy: HARLEY-DAVIDSON WILL NOTIFY ITS CUSTOMERS AND REPAIR THE MOTORCYCLES BY REMOVING THE ACCESSORY COVER FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN DECEMBER 22, 2004. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT HARLEY DAVIDSON AT 1-414-343-4056.
ON CERTAIN MOTORCYCLES, A CONDITION OCCURS THAT COULD ALLOW PRESSURE TO BUILD UP IN THE FUEL TANK. ON FUEL INJECTED VEHICLES, THIS CONDITION COULD CAUSE FUEL TO SPRAY OUT UNEXPECTEDLY WHEN THE FUEL CAP IS REMOVED. ON CARBURETED VEHICLES, EXCESSIVE FUEL COULD BE TRANSFERRED TO THE CARBURETOR, WHICH WOULD EVENTUALLY ALLOW FUEL TO DRIP FROM THE AIR CLEANER.
Risk: THESE SITUATIONS COULD CAUSE SERIOUS PERSONAL INJURY OR CREATE A FIRE HAZARD FOR PERSONS OR PROPERTY ON OR NEAR THE MOTORCYCLE.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL TEST EACH CANISTER FOR BLOCKAGE, THEN REPLACE AS NECESSARY. THE RECALL BEGAN NOVEMBER 4, 2004. OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT HARLEY-DAVIDSON AT 1-414-343-4056.
