Rider Profile

Best ForThis bike suits an experienced rider comfortable with a powerful, torquey V-twin and a fat 240-section rear tyre that demands deliberate inputs.
PurposeIt's built as a power-cruiser hybrid, blending muscle-bike acceleration and presence with naked-bike sportiness rather than outright track or adventure use.
Rider FitThe low 770mm seat height and relaxed but reachy riding position make it accessible to shorter riders, though the wide tail and mass require some effort at low speed.
CharacterAggressive, torque-laden, and visually dominant, the Diavel delivers big V-twin thrust with surprisingly agile handling for its size and stance.
Not Ideal ForIt's not the right choice for off-road use, long-distance touring comfort seekers, or riders wanting a lightweight, flickable machine.

Character map is an editorial estimate based on this bike's specifications, not a lab-tested measurement.

2012 Ducati Diavel Cromo Rider Ergonomics Assessment

Calculated in your browser only - your height/inseam are never sent to our servers.

Feet:

At 770mm, a rider of 175cm with a 79cm (estimated) inseam will reach the ground with both feet flat on the 2012 Ducati Diavel Cromo, with a relaxed knee angle of around 125 degrees and a forward-leaning riding position.

Data quality: measured. Assumes about 30mm of suspension sag once seated (a typical street-bike rule of thumb - stiffer or softer suspension will vary). This is an approximation from category-typical geometry and generic body proportions, not a measurement of this specific bike or you - sit on it before you buy.

⚠ Safety Recalls (1)

STRUCTURE:MOTORCYCLE:KICKSTAND/CENTER STAND Aug 2012 · 12V376000

Ducati is recalling certain model year 2012-2013 Diavel motorcycles manufactured from May 25, 2012, through June 28, 2012. The side stand may bend or break.

Risk: The side stand could bend or break in the pivot area, allowing the motorcycle to fall over, increasing the risk of personal injury to the operator or others near the motorcycle. Even without falling over, a bent sidestand may interfere with the proper operation of the sidestand safety switch, preventing the bike from starting or causing the bike to stall without warning.

Remedy: Ducati will notify owners, and authorized dealers will replace the side stand, free of charge. The safety recall began on August 13, 2012. Owners may contact Ducati at 1-800-231-6696 or through their website at www.ducati.com.
