Rider Profile

Best ForSuited to riders who already have some experience with heavy, low-slung cruisers and are comfortable managing a bike that weighs over 300 kg with fuel on board.
PurposeBuilt for relaxed boulevard cruising and stylish presence rather than outright speed or sport performance.
Rider FitIts low seat height and wide bars make it approachable for shorter riders, but the substantial weight demands confident low-speed handling and strength at a stop.
CharacterA classic American V-twin cruiser with a big torquey engine, laid-back ergonomics, and old-school custom styling that rewards a relaxed, unhurried riding pace.
Not Ideal ForNot a good fit for riders seeking sharp cornering ability, high-speed touring comfort, or any kind of off-road capability.

Character map is an editorial estimate based on this bike's specifications, not a lab-tested measurement.

⚠ Safety Recalls (1)

FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY Sep 2004 · 04V465000

ON CERTAIN MOTORCYCLES, A CONDITION OCCURS THAT COULD ALLOW PRESSURE TO BUILD UP IN THE FUEL TANK. ON FUEL INJECTED VEHICLES, THIS CONDITION COULD CAUSE FUEL TO SPRAY OUT UNEXPECTEDLY WHEN THE FUEL CAP IS REMOVED. ON CARBURETED VEHICLES, EXCESSIVE FUEL COULD BE TRANSFERRED TO THE CARBURETOR, WHICH WOULD EVENTUALLY ALLOW FUEL TO DRIP FROM THE AIR CLEANER.

Risk: THESE SITUATIONS COULD CAUSE SERIOUS PERSONAL INJURY OR CREATE A FIRE HAZARD FOR PERSONS OR PROPERTY ON OR NEAR THE MOTORCYCLE.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL TEST EACH CANISTER FOR BLOCKAGE, THEN REPLACE AS NECESSARY. THE RECALL BEGAN NOVEMBER 4, 2004. OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT HARLEY-DAVIDSON AT 1-414-343-4056.
