Rider Profile

Best ForBest suited to riders who already have experience handling heavy, low-slung cruisers, given the springer front end and substantial curb weight.
PurposeBuilt for relaxed boulevard cruising and classic-styled long weekend rides rather than outright speed or sport handling.
Rider FitThe low seat height helps shorter riders reach the ground, but the bike's heavy weight demands solid strength and balance at low speeds and when maneuvering or parking.
CharacterA retro-styled, torque-driven cruiser with a laid-back exhaust burble and old-school springer front suspension that prioritizes presence and style over agility.
Not Ideal ForNot a good fit for riders wanting sharp cornering ability, off-road capability, or high-speed sport performance.

Character map is an editorial estimate based on this bike's specifications, not a lab-tested measurement.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:12V/24V/48V BATTERY:CABLES Apr 2007 · 07V173000

CERTAIN MOTORCYCLES WERE BUILT WITH A CONDITION THAT PERMITS THE POSITIVE BATTERY CABLE TO CONTACT A WELD BEAD ON THE OIL TANK. THIS MAY CAUSE THE WELD BEAD TO ABRADE THROUGH THE INSULATION ON THE CABLE AND CAUSE AN ELECTRICAL SHORT FROM THE BATTERY THROUGH THE OIL TANK AND OIL LINES.

Risk: THIS COULD LEAD TO AN OIL LEAK AND/OR POSSIBLE FIRE, WHICH COULD RESULT IN INJURY OR DEATH TO THE RIDER.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSTALL A BATTERY CADDY THAT WILL PROTECT THE CABLE AND ENSURE PROPER CABLE ROUTING. THIS RECALL BEGAN ON MAY 4, 2007. OWNERS MAY CONTACT HARLEY-DAVIDSON AT 1-414-342-4080.
