Rider Profile

Best ForBest suited to riders who already have some experience handling a long, heavy cruiser at low speeds and in tight maneuvers.
PurposeThis bike is built for bold, low-slung street cruising and boulevard presence rather than any kind of long-distance or performance riding.
Rider FitThe very low seat height makes it approachable for shorter riders, but the substantial weight and wide rear tire demand confident strength and balance at parking-lot speeds.
CharacterIt has a muscular, aggressive cruiser personality defined by big V-twin torque, a fat rear tire, and a stretched-out, drag-inspired stance.
Not Ideal ForThis is not the right choice for riders seeking nimble cornering, off-road capability, or a comfortable long-haul touring companion.

Character map is an editorial estimate based on this bike's specifications, not a lab-tested measurement.

⚠ Safety Recalls (1)

SUSPENSION:FRONT Feb 2024 · 24V165000

BMW of North America, LLC (BMW) is recalling certain 2024 R 1250RT, K 1600GT, K 1600GTL, and K 1600B motorcycles. The front spring strut may contain an incorrectly manufactured proportional valve that can loosen, and result in strut failure and a loss of stability.

Risk: A loss of stability while riding can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect the strut production dates and replace the front spring struts as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 29, 2024. Owners may contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417.
